MPLS VPN
MPLS (Multi-Protocol Label Switch) is a new-generation IP backbone exchange standard proposed by IETF and is a kind of integrated IP Over ATM technology. It is an integration of IP routing technological flexibility with ATM exchange technological simplicity and provides label switch service similar to virtual circuit by introducing the connection-oriented properties of MPLS to connectionless IP network.
Typical case:
A large transnational software company has developed 5 subsidiaries in China so far and to better meet the demand of further development, it intends to realize interconnection between its subsidiaries through MPLS/VPN networking mode.
Solutions:
The network center (Shanghai) applies optical fiber + photoelectric converter to realize MPLS network access.
The total rate at the port of access point is 10M and user's router interface is RJ45 or optical interface directly provided.
For important branches and subsidiaries, optical access mode is adopted with 1M or 2M rate. |
