Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM)
Asynchronous Transfer Mode is a transfer mode in which information is grouped as a unit with fixed length and is multiplexed, communicated and transferred. It combines the advantages of circuit switch and packet switch technologies. ATM enjoys a high internet transfer speed and a good transfer quality guarantee mechanism, capable of transferring broadband signals at any speed ratio, and voices, datas, images and videos as well. ATM is appropriately used for the high-speed data transfer between 2M and 622M.
Access types compatible to RJ48 and single and multi-mode optical fiber port.
Physical access speeds of 34M,155M and even higher than 622M by transfer speed, which can meet requirements of all services (data, voice, and video and others).

Frame Relay:

Frame Relay is a WAN technology, which is developed based on the X.25 packet switching technology in the context of the improved quality of lines due to the replacement of analogue line by optical digital line, the increasing communication demands from computer LAN, WAN and other large amount of burst communication demands, and further intellectualized client terminals. It is a communication mode of WAN, and can conduct the latest technological IP services.

Technologies of Frame Relay:

Technologies of Frame Relay can be summarized as the followings:

Frame Relay technology is mainly used for the transfer of data, and by using a set of regulations, it effectively transfers data information as a frame (briefly referred as frame relay protocol). It is a kind of communication mode of WAN.
Frame Relay uses logic connector rather than physical connector, and various logic connectors can be multiplexed on a physical connector (then can set up various logic channels), to achieve the multiplex of bandwidth and dynamic distribution.
Frame Relay protocol is the simplified X.25 protocol, with a high processing efficiency and high network turnover. The time delay is short and the access speed of a Frame Relay client reaches 64kbit/s to 2Mbit/s, and even 34Mbit/s.
The frame information lengthen of the frame relay is longer than the packet length, with the largest frame length reaching 1600 byte/ frame and is appropriate for sealing the data unit of LAN, &127; it can be appropriately used for the transmission of burst services (such as compressed video services, www services and others).
